Time to just “be” me

I find myself often spending way too much time determining how to budget…imagine this but my “time”! I want time to create and time to organize, time to complete what I begin and time to begin new things. I take time to make messes and time to clean them up. I want time with my boys and time with my friends. I want time with Ryp and time with my family. I love the time I spend with my colleagues and time that I spend meeting new people in new places. I spend time with the people that I care about most and time with people I don’t care much for being around but still care about them. I spend time cooking, shopping, cleaning, mowing, running errands, folding clothes and feeding guinea pigs, reading aloud and playing games. I spend time listening and time talking, time understanding and time trying to be understood. I spend time reading email, responding to email, opening paper mail and sending paper mail. I spend time writing letters and sending gifts and trying to determine what kinds of surprises will brighten the days/lives of those who I love. It all seems to come down to the simple fact that there is only so much time! And so, I have determined after looking through my daily task lists and my schedules and my calendars for myself and my children that there is something BIG missing…! There is not enough empty unplanned time to just simply “BE”. When I am “being” just plain old me, I find myself at peace with myself and my world. When I am just “being” I somehow find time to take bubble baths, read books, create new recipes and walk around the pond. When I am just “being” I have time to laugh and to talk to my best friends on the phone about things that really don’t matter much in the big picture but they keep us connected…heart to heart…from wherever I am to North Carolina and Florida! When I am “being” I start new things with passion and I complete them with integrity. In order to get a head start on tomorrow’s agenda (middle school orientation and high school orientation with a long “to do” list in the hours in between) I think I will go “be” in the bubble bath listening to my favorite Enya mix by the light of my favorite Yankee candle and not even think about the time!

And so the blogging journey begins…

And so it goes…I am officially a “blogger”! I have been back and forth, up and down trying to determine what my first blog should be about. I have contemplated this to the point of self caused confusion and anxiety. I mean, why blog? What is my purpose? What I am creating for myself and others by blogging? So, after much too much thinking…this is my blogging commitment and purpose. My blog is my place to share…to share myself with the world I live in and love. I plan to use this as a place to share my ideas, my thoughts and my passions with intentions of spreading the pieces of me that can contribute causing a creative and connected community! This is step one…the first of many. Who knows where this blogging journey will lead? I guess only time will share this answer. I do feel that the journey will be worth the while! Together with me as the blogger and you as the companions along the way, together we can create whatever we wish! I look forward to your feedback, your suggestions and most of all your friendships! Here we go……WHHHEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!
