My first crafting project of the season!
In Old World Germany, the last decoration placed on the Christmas tree was always a pickle… carefully hidden deep in the boughs. Legend has it that the observant child who found it on Christmas Day was blessed with a year of good fortune… and a special gift! Here are directions to make a pickle ornament of your own and share the tradition in your home.
Cut out your pickles in green cardstock and green glitter paper.
Glue them together inserting a piece of floral wire in between layers.
Dip in Mod Podge and let dry completely for several hours.
Add buttons, ribbon and beads to make your pickle special being sure to twist the wire so you don’t lose your beads.
Ta Da! Get ready to create some family fun and with the hiding of the pickle. To be eligible to win the MYSTERY PRIZE, please post a comment. I would LOVE to know which supply in the supplies photo you would want the most!
Oh yeah, the ebook I helped write launched today too! If you want to buy it for 99 cents, use promo code LKHoliday2012! Click on the picture and it will take you where you need to be to download it.
Merry Holidays,
Laura

This is so cute. I hope to try making this for my new granddaughter. Thanks for sharing:)
So much fun, I had it backwards, we always hid it first and then let the kids come in and decorate the tree…lol
Still love seeing a pickle on the tree. Glad you joined the hop and shared
