DIY Snowman Decor (aka Button Guard)

There are several things I LOVE…but if you follow my posts you already probably know that two of these things are buttons and ribbons (especially black with white polka-dots)!  Here is a DIY snowman you can create using both with some Styrofoam balls to create a little holiday fun.

I connected two Styrofoam balls together with a wooden skewer.

Then I added buttons (from my Laura Kelly collection with Buttons Galore and More) to embellish the snowman using straight pins in coordinating colors.

I made a little hat from felt then added a wide ribbon from May Arts for the scarf.  Ta Da!

I decided to stitch up a little sign and add little felt mittens so this adorable little snowman could have a job in my design studio.  I gave him the honor of wearing a Cre8time button too so he can be a reminder to all who see him to make time to create each day. I think he is happy with his responsibilities.

There are lots of fun things that can be created with buttons from Buttons Galore and ribbons from May Arts.  Check out a few of my crafty blogger friends’ projects!

The button guard is so cute. He’ll do a good job ’cause he won’t want anybody to get his buttons. I’ll be trying this idea. thanks.

  8. This is so cute! I remember making things out of styrofoam when I was a child, but it is definitely time to pick it back up again. I need a button guard!
